Strong Support From SA Women for 2017 SLCC Race Series

The Adelaide Parklands hosted Round 6 of the 2017 Skinny Lattes Race Series on September 17th, delivering up a perfect spring day for riders and officials.

Eighty Eight Women ranging in age from 14 – 65+ pinned on a number to compete in either the 6 events across the Road Race Series, or dip their toes in for an individual event.  Since the inception of this series 6 years ago, the interest and support from local riders has steadily built, providing opportunities for women of all ages and abilities to compete in a safe and friendly environment.

Race Director Lynette Collins explained that club members and master’s riders had always gotten behind the series and supported it, “the big difference in the last couple of years is that we had great support from the Junior Women U15-U17 as well as some of the really top riders from around the state”.

Final Results:

A Grade: Rhiannon Hughes 1st, Liz Buckley 2nd, Rebecca Gross 3rd.

B Grade: Nat Morgan 1st, Bron Dolman 2nd, Simone Niejalke 3rd.

C Grade: Rachel Trim 1st, Emma Seeliger 2nd, Rachel Goud 3rd.

D Grade: Sharlene Harding 1st, Alison Kent and Heather Webb 2nd.

Juniors: Hannah Seeliger 1st, Tessa Kohn 2nd and Tia Slama 3rd.

 

Overall Series Winner: Rhiannon Hughes

Most Improved Rider: Rachel Trim

These trophies have been engraved and are on dislplay at Cascada Cafe.
